Achieve the straight, confident smile you've always wanted. Expert orthodontic care with modern braces and clear aligners at Krishna Dental.
What is orthodontic treatment?
Orthodontic treatment straightens teeth and corrects bite problems using braces or clear aligners. This improves not just your appearance (for which we also offer cosmetic dentistry options), but also your oral health and jaw function. Options range from traditional metal braces starting from Rs 25,000 to Invisalign clear aligners from Rs 1,50,000, with treatment following a five-step journey from initial consultation through fitting, regular adjustments, and a final retainer phase.
Straighter teeth are easier to clean, less prone to decay and gum disease, and can improve your overall quality of life. At Krishna Dental, we offer multiple options — from traditional metal braces to invisible clear aligners — so you can choose what works best for your lifestyle and goals. Every case is assessed personally by Dr. Vidya Sahithi Atluri, MDS (Prosthodontist), with most treatments taking 12 months to 3 years depending on complexity.
What types of braces are available?
Metal Braces
The most reliable and effective option. Durable stainless steel brackets and wires work quickly and are highly customizable for all correction types.
Ceramic Braces
Tooth-coloured brackets blend in beautifully with your smile. Nearly invisible while still being as effective as metal braces for most cases.
Self-Ligating Braces
Advanced brackets eliminate the need for elastic bands. Result: faster tooth movement, fewer adjustments, and more comfort during treatment.
Clear Aligners
Virtually invisible, removable trays gradually straighten your teeth. Perfect for those wanting a discreet solution without visible brackets.
What happens during your orthodontic journey?
Initial consultation
We examine your teeth, bite, and jaw with digital X-rays and 3D imaging. This helps us understand your needs and discuss all available treatment options.
Treatment planning
Using advanced software, we create a customised plan showing exactly how your teeth will move and your smile will transform. You'll see your final result before we start.
Braces fitting
We carefully bond brackets to your teeth and insert the archwire. The entire process is comfortable, and we give you all the care instructions you need for success.
Regular adjustments
You'll visit every 4-6 weeks for adjustments. Each appointment fine-tunes your braces to keep your teeth moving toward the perfect alignment.
Retainer phase
Once braces come off, a custom retainer holds your teeth in their new position. Wearing it as prescribed ensures your beautiful smile lasts a lifetime.

Life with braces or aligners
With traditional braces, avoiding sticky, hard, and very chewy foods protects the brackets and wires from breaking, and a soft-bristled brush plus interdental brushes make cleaning around them much easier. Some pressure or mild discomfort after adjustments is normal for a day or two and fades quickly.
With clear aligners, discipline matters most — they only work if worn 20–22 hours a day, removed just for eating and brushing. After active treatment finishes, most patients need a retainer (worn nightly, or as advised) to keep teeth from drifting back — this maintenance step is just as important as the treatment itself.
Adjustment visits are typically every 4–6 weeks, and total treatment time ranges from around 12 months for simpler corrections to 24 months or more for complex bite issues — we'll give you a realistic estimate at your first consultation.
Braces or clear aligners — which is right for you?
Traditional metal or ceramic braces are fixed in place, work well for complex bite corrections, and don't rely on patient compliance since they can't be removed. They're often the more affordable starting option and suit a wide range of cases, including children and teens.
Clear aligners are removable, virtually invisible, and easier to keep teeth clean around, making them popular with adults — but they require the discipline to wear them consistently. Dr. Vidya will assess your bite and recommend whichever option actually fits your specific correction needs.
For significant crowding or complex bite problems, braces sometimes remain the more reliable option even when a patient would prefer aligners cosmetically — we'll always be upfront if that's the case for you, rather than fitting aligners that won't fully correct the issue.
A common misconception is that orthodontic treatment is only for children and teens — in reality, a growing share of our orthodontic patients are adults, since teeth can be moved safely at any age as long as the gums and bone supporting them are healthy. Adult treatment sometimes takes slightly longer than a teenager's, since adult bone remodels a little more slowly, but the results are just as reliable. We also see many parents starting treatment for the first time alongside their children, having decided as adults that they'd finally like to address a bite issue they've lived with for years — it's genuinely never too late to start.
